LONG RANGE FIGHTING STYLE
The Northern style originated approximately 1000 years ago in the Northern Shaolin Temple of Honan province. It is a hard style originally employed by the religious order charged with disciplining erring monks. Powerful long range hand strikes and leaping kicks were developed to take advantage of the hard open terrain and the relatively large stature of the Northern Chinese natives. The stylish forms, accompanied by characteristic vocalizations, are elegant, complicated, and most impressive.
